Safaliba
Safaliba is a language spoken in the northeast of Ghana, south of the Dagaare-Waali-Birifor group, west and south of the town of Bole.
It is the southern- and western-most if the languages in this study. These languages encircle the Grusi languages of the centre of northern Ghana, and of the 'Northern and Western' subgroup Safaliba comes so far round anti-clockwise, as it were, that it shares some features with Dagbani and its relatives of the 'Southern and Eastern' subgroup.
We are promised a full Safaliba Dictionary but it is not yet ready for publication. The interim data in the Comparative Dictionary is a small sample from my own early survey work in the area and a 'taster' of the full dictionary shared by Paul Schaefer in 2012, containing entries from A to D of the Safaliba-English version.
