Dagaare

tunturi
Dagaare is the language spoken in the northwest of Ghana and adjacent areas of Burkina Faso, along with closely-related languages Waali and Birifor. A discussion of the range of dialects with a sample of variant forms of some 300 lexemes is found
In recent years Prof. Adams Bodomo has produced a linguistic dictionary, originally combined with an English and a Cantonese stream for Hong Kong students, and in the Dagaa area Mark Ali has produced a Dagaare-English dictionary. The compilers have kindly allowed me to draw on their material to supply the DR data in the Comparative Dictionary (attributed as (AB) and (MA) respectively. A few items have been copied from Fr. J.B.Durand's 1953 hard-copy Dagaari-English Dictionary
published at the Jirapa Catholic Mission.
